Our mission is to aid and empower members of the Jewish community by providing affordable interest free loans in accordance with core Jewish values of dignity, respect, compassion, and confidentiality. Please read through all the information below before starting your application.
You will need to upload the following documents (for you and for your spouse, if you are married) to complete the application in PDF, JPEG, or PNG format.
- Government issued ID for you and your spouse
- Second form of ID (Ex: A bill, insurance statement, passport, a document that shows your name and address.)
Once you have completed your application and spoken with an HFLSD representative, you may be asked to provide further documentation, such as:
- Proof of Income
- Last’s Year’s Federal Tax Return (First 2 pages of Form 1040)
- Proof of Need
- Completed Budget Worksheet
Guarantors
At Hebrew Free Loan of San Diego, we rely on guarantors instead of collateral to secure your loan. A guarantor is someone who can guarantee to pay back the loan if you do not. A guarantor is at least 25 years old, lives in California and has a credit score of 670 or better. A friend, family member or employer are examples of a guarantor.
