Unemployment Loans: Ease your financial pressure while seeking a new job. (Up to $2,000/month for 6 months; max. $12,000 total)
Structured differently than our other loan programs, unemployment loans are disbursed in monthly installments for up to six months. The monthly loan amount you are eligible for will depend on your previous salary. Loan repayment is deferred until three months after getting a new job or, if unemployment continues, nine months after the first loan disbursement.
- Need to present three most recent pay stubs and your last W-2 form to qualify for unemployment loans.
- Borrower must request each disbursement, providing an update on his or her job search.
- May be required to undergo resume writing and/or interview training or other job counseling.
HFLSD’s interest-free loan program is available to residents of San Diego County. You must be at least 18-years-of-age and a member of the Jewish community to apply. Depending on the size and purpose of your loan request, you may be required to provide 2 guarantors for your loan. Guarantors must be over 25 years old and at least one guarantor must be a resident of California. Please do not let the guarantor requirement keep you from submitting your application.
