Small Business Loan Recipient - Martin

Helping Dreams Come True with a Small Business Loan

Martin is the owner of a successful pizzeria, making his dough and sauces from scratch for the last 20 years. During the pandemic business slowed down until his carry-out and delivery numbers really increased. He did not have space indoors or outdoors for a dine-in option for his dedicated customers. The combination of a rent increase and the lifting of pandemic restrictions drove Martin to think about expanding and relocating his business.

After learning about Hebrew Free Loan of San Diego (HFLSD) from a family member, he sought the help of an interest-free loan from HFLSD. Martin’s plan to relocate and expand his restaurant to now include indoor dining required a large downpayment for the lease of the new space. The Small Business Loan from HFLSD is set up for just this need – helping small business owners improve and expand their offerings to the community!

Martin says: “Because of my interest-free loan from HFLSD, I was able to secure the location for the new, larger restaurant space and to move in on time and on budget. It really was key in me laying the foundation for my small business expansion.”

Martin is enjoying his new location in San Diego County as he is now able to offer dine-in to his customers as well as carry-out and delivery.  His pizzeria is finding great success in the new location and is serving up food to the community made from scratch and from the heart.
