Debt Consolidation Loan Recipient - Jacob
Helping Dreams Come True with a Debt Consolidation Loan
Jacob received a Personal Needs – Debt Consolidation loan from HFLSD. He grew up in San Diego, attended UC Berkeley for his undergraduate degree and is pursuing a master’s in social work. He supported himself through both undergraduate and graduate school. He also helped his mother since his father died from Covid-19 and helped his fiancée with expenses. He accrued a large amount of credit card debt prior to beginning his job, and during this same time period he had a housing transition, where he moved out of his mother’s house, once she was ready to live on her own. He was very concerned that when his current lease was up, his low credit score would result in his lease not being renewed. Jacob reached out to HFLSD for assistance to avoid getting into a worse financial situation. Jacob has strong ties to the San Diego Jewish community having grown up here and is very thankful to HFLSD for granting him a loan using one of our guarantor funds. Jacob’s HFLSD loan will allow him to reach his goals of reducing his credit card debt, increasing his credit score, and learning more financial awareness skills.
Jacob shares: “I wish I had known that Hebrew Free Loan of San Diego existed 10 years ago, when I first started running into financial problems… it feels so much more natural and right to reach out to a Jewish organization that really cares about Jewish people when we are in a financial crisis. I am forever grateful to Hebrew Free Loan of San Diego for bailing me out of a bad situation and for doing so without the slightest amount of judgement or hesitation. I pray that Hebrew Free Loan of San Diego will be around to support countless more Jewish people in need for many, many years to come! “
